Description: Peptide analogues of VEGF have been investigated as modulators of VEGF signaling, and peptide fragments derived from a single VEGFR binding motif of VEGF-A have been used to antagonize VEGF activity.One particularly well-studied VEGFR-binding peptide, designed to mimic the VEGFR binding site on VEGF-A (KLTWQELYQLKYKGI), has been shown to stimulate VEGF signaling and also synergize with soluble VEGF-A to promote increased endothelial cell proliferation and tubule formation.
