Product name: TAT (48–60)

Synonyms: HIV-1 transactivator protein (Tat),
cell-penetrating HIV-1 Tat peptide,

Sequence: GRKKRRQRRRQC

Purity: 95% by HPLC

Counter ion: Trifluoacetate

Format: Lyophilized powder

Description: The transactivating factor (Tat) of HIV-1 is involved in AIDS progression and associated pathologies. Tat possesses a basic amino acid sequence implicated in heparan sulfate proteoglycan (HSPG)-mediated internalization, nuclear localization and transactivation by Tat and in the interaction of Tat with integrins and with the vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (KDR) (kinase insert domain receptor). Conjugates of Tat with proteins , peptides , PNA, various classes of oligonucleotides , and siRNA have been shown to translocate into cells. Moreover, the transport of non-covalently bound plasmid DNA, liposomes , and even adenoviral particles has been demonstrated.
