Description: It has been shown, that
peptides from the N-terminal region of HSV-1 gD (gD-1) can induce both B and T
cell responses and resulting antibodies proved to be able to neutralize HSV-1 in
vitro. The SALLEDPVG epitope peptide coupled to AK polymer was immunogenic and
induced protection of preimmunized mice (BALB/c and CBA) against lethal dose of
HSV.Immunological characterization of truncated peptides of this region
suggested the DPVG tetramer sequence as the epitope
core.
